Goodbye Ego is the sonic alter-ego of Michael Walker—an artist, father, and founder blending music, mindfulness, and machine intelligence to explore what it means to be fully human. Before launching Goodbye Ego, Michael toured for nearly a decade as Paradise Fears, sharing stages with multi-platinum acts and building a passionate global fanbase. The band’s album Battle Scars hit #2 on iTunes with over 24 million Spotify streams and 17 million YouTube views. In 2018, Michael stepped back from touring to start a family and build Modern Musician—a platform helping independent artists grow their fanbase and income online. The company has been featured by the GRAMMYs for its virtual music conferences, and reached #2 on Apple Podcasts for music interviews. With Goodbye Ego, Michael returns to his roots through a new lens—melding cinematic alt-rock with conscious storytelling and experimental tech. The upcoming EP Harmonic Human explores themes of identity, transcendence, and reinvention. Michael is also weaving generative AI, VR, and 3D into the project—reimagining what music can be in a post-human era. He recently co-founded the Singularity Artist Accelerator with Bob Richards of Singularity University to support visionary creators using emerging tech to expand human consciousness.
